The development of the TRITEL instrument dedicated for space radiation and dosimetry measurements on the European Student Earth Orbiter (ESEO) has come to its final stage. We prepared the protoflight model in the cleanroom facility of the MTA EK Space Research Laboratory for delivery, and then we brought it to Italy, to the space industry company SITAEL. This was followed by the final acceptance tests performed on ESEO-TRITEL connected to the ESEO flatsat model. The tests were successfully completed. After the tests had been performed, the protoflight model was officially handed-over and now it is ready for final integration into the satellite expected to take place soon. After that the final satellite-level acceptance tests (vibration tests, thermo-vacuum and EMC tests) will be performed and then the ESEO satellite is ready to be launched according to a tight schedule.
This was the last time that, after many-many years of development, we could see the TRITEL flight model, so we were very much looking forward to this moment. Have a nice trip and good luck, TRITEL!
