Capital of Sciences 2018

This year, the Capital of Sciences festival was organized on the 23rd of September 2018 at the Akvárium Klub in Budapest, where the Centre for Energy Research, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA EK) has also introduced itself. Visitors could acquaint themselves with the activities of our research group as well.

Those who were interested had the opportunity to have a look at the flight model of the student experiment REMRED that had been launched to a maximum of 88 km above sea level as well as the module of the REXUS rocket that had brought the scientific equipment to the lowest boundary of the mesosphere. Visitors could also admire an engineering model of the Pille space dosimeter system that had been used by the first Hungarian cosmonaut Bertalan Farkas. Many of the guests were also interested in the tests conducted in our Space Research Laboratory opened this year.
