Visit of Science Attaché Hongmei Lei of the People’s Republic of China at our Space Research Laboratory

Hongmei Lei, science attaché of the People’s Republic of China visited our Space Research Laboratory, where we discussed the possible future co-operations.

Space research and space activities in general have undergone explosive evolution over the past decade and a half in China. China is now one of the most significant spacefaring nations in the world, who is looking for international cooperation and partners for its future missions. At the beginning of July, our group was visited by Hongmei Lei, science attaché of the People’s Republic of China, who is the direct responsible for mediating Chinese-Hungarian scientific relations, to establish contact with our group. We presented our activities and our new Space Research Laboratory and we negotiated on the possible co-operation between the China National Space Administration (CNSA) and our group. For instance, our space dosimetry instruments, like the Pille and the TRITEL system, could be utilized also in the human space programme of the CNSA. We also discussed the possibilities of hosting our space radiation and space weather instruments on board Chinese satellites and interplanetary space probes. We are looking forward to the possible continuation!
