A workshop on ESEO Integration and Assembly was held in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, on the 18th of October, organized by the ESA Academy. The students had the chance to gain some insight about the final tests before the launch. Next day, the satellite was already on its way towards the United States and now it is waiting at US Vandenberg Air Force Base!
During the workshop we attended presentations about the vibration, thermal-vacuum, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests directly from the operators. We learned about not only the test executions, but about the occurring problems, and solutions. In addition, we heard presentations about the test campaign on satellite level and the quality audit reports as well.
ESEO team members pretend to be satellites. The third and the fourth student in the first row, Boglárka Erdős and Anna Baranyai represented the ESEO-TRITEL team at ESTEC. (credits: ESA).
Besides the presentations, we also had the opportunity to visit some of the ESTEC laboratories, where we had the chance to see the ESEO satellite for the last time before launch. The satellite just got the clearance on Friday to be transferred to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. We are already excited about the launch, which is expected on 19th November with a Falcon-9. For further infromation visit the corresponding ESA website.
