Our first space lab tests performed for a foreign company! – Thermal tests of the RADCUBE boom system for Astronika

The Polish space company Astronika develops the boom system necessary for the magnetic field measurements of the RADCUBE mission. This enables measurements outside the satellite structure.

The technological model of the boom system was tested in our laboratory, where, after the first successful opening tests, thermal tests were performed in our thermo-vacuum chamber and then in our climate chamber on the boom system. Base on these tests it could veryfied that the boom opening mechanism will be also working in the vacuum and thermal environment in the orbit. These tests have been our first official tests performed in our space research laboratory according to an order from a foreign company.
